Jagex confirmed the Steam launch of OSRS gold both games today. Runescape, colloquially known as Runescape 3 because it is the very updated version of the game, will arrive on October 14. Old School Runescape, that employs the 2007 version of this game as a base, will return to Steam sometime in 2021.
Runescape since most people knew it was initially published in 2001 and performed via a browser. Both games have been on cellular stores for some time now. "Jagex is on a mission to bring the RuneScape universe to more players globally," says CEO Phil Mansell. "Following our games' arrival on cellular shops, we are currently expanding the access to the desktop versions. Making them accessible to the Steam community is an important step in attaining this goal. We are eager to see RuneScape advent on Steam from October 14th and look ahead to Old School RuneScape's coming next year, as we empower even more gamers to explore and access our rich and engaging living game worlds."
Runescape and Old School Runescape are equally technically free-to-play games, but most frequent players register to membership programs that unlock the majority of content. As such, Jagex will offer"subscription bundles" via Steam. The Steam versions will also encourage achievements, and their Steam community hubs will double as a brand new place for announcements and updates from the studio.
