The famous wail of every actor, but sometimes...
Just watching the streaming of Anthony and Cleopatra from the National Theatre. I remembered how much I enjoyed the two magnificent central performances (Ralph Fiennes and Sophie Okonedo) and SOME of the supporting roles. But sometimes you see a performance onstage of such unadulterated awfulness that you genuinely do wonder how on earth that actor was ever cast. Although only a handful of lines, it casts a pall across all the hard work of the rest of the cast.
Yes I know it's a team thing and the cast acts as one unit - succeeding or failing together. But seriously...
I won't name the actor or the role, although if you watch the play I'd be amazed if you didn't work it out.
